Closing battery compartment:
Engage the battery compartment cover (2) 
on the cable side into the retainer. 
Fold the battery compartment cover (2) 
downwards.
Carefully press down the battery 
compartment (2) until it latches into place.
14.18 Battery
● Stop the engine. (Ö 12.3)
● Engage the parking brake. (Ö 8.12)
● Remove the ignition key and keep it in a 
safe place.
● Open the battery compartment. 
(Ö 14.17)
Setting the battery down:
For connecting and disconnecting the 
battery (1), set it down at an angle on the 
cover. 
Caution: Check for secure position.
Disconnecting the battery:
● Set battery down. (Ö 14.18)
Unscrew the nut (1) from black connection 
cable (2) using two A/F 8 spanners and 
remove the screw (3), washer (4) and 
nut (1). 
Detach and remove the black connection 
cable (2) from the battery negative (–) 
terminal.
Detach cap (5). Unscrew the nut (1) of the 
red connection cable (6) from the battery 
positive (+) terminal using two A/F 
8 spanners and remove. Remove the 
screw (3), washer (4) and nut (1).
Remove the red connection cable (6) from 
the battery positive (+) terminal.
Risk of injury!
When disconnecting the battery, 
always remove the black 
negative (–) cable first and only 
then, the red positive (+) cable.
When connecting the battery, 
always connect the red positive (+) 
cable first.
The battery is maintenance free 
and must only be replaced if it is 
damaged and must be removed in 
the case of prolonged 
immobilisation (e.g. winter break).
Remove battery before disposing of 
the machine. 
Do not dispose of the battery with 
domestic waste, but hand it in to a 
specialist dealer or at a hazardous 
waste collection point.
