projectthebestlighttothestage.
MOVETHESPOTSIZECONTROLHANDLEonthelargelenscarriagetothe
forwardmostpositiontoprojectthesmallestspotpossible.Settheiris,choppers,anddimming
controltotheirfullopenpositions.Projectthespottoawallorsimilaratperpendicularsurface
oppositethespotlightposition.
TURN THE CENTER FOCUS CONTROLcounterclockwise until a small black
spotisprojectedonthewall.Itmaybewelltorunthisadjustmentbothdirectionstopermitpositive
identicationofthedarkspot.
LOOSENTHETWOTHUMBSCREWStotheleftandrightofthefocuscontrol
justenoughtopermitmanualmovementofcompletecontrolassembly.Movethecontrolassembly
aroundthetwothumbscrewsandobservethesmoothdarkshadowofthebulbelectrodeinsidethe
shadedcircleofthereectorcenteropening.Theshadowoftheelectrodemustbecenteredinthe
projectedopeningofthereector.
MOVETHECONTROLASSEMBLYaroundthethumbscrewsuntilthedarkelec-
trodeshadowisasroundaspossibletoproject.Itmaybenecessarytoagainrotatethefocuscontrol
todenetheelectrodeshadow.
AFTERTHEELECTRODESHADOWisasevenaroundthe outsideaspossible,
tightenthetwothumbscrewstolockthisadjustmentinplace,androtatethefocuscontroltoobtain
thebrightestlightwiththebestlightdistribution.Turnthespotfocuscontrolknob,locatedonthe
frontofthelensmechanism,tosharpentheedgeofthespot.
THESECONDMETHODofaligningthexenonbulbistoprojectthespottothestage,
andusingthebulbadjustmentcontrols,obtaina“hotspot”intheprojectedspot.Centerthis“hot
spot”intheprojectedspotbymovingtheentirecontrolsectionaroundthetwothumbscrews.Once
