Replace Fuses
Tools required: ¼” Flat blade screwdriver
#2 Philips screwdriver
Fuses for the HC-4A and HC-4A2 are located in three places:
1. Front Panel
a. Auxiliary power, solenoid valve, coolant circulator, fan circuit: (2) 5.0 ampere
b. Cold head valve motor circuit: (2) 0.63 ampere [HC-4A] or (2) 1.0 ampere [HC-4A2]
2. Behind left side compressor cover:
a. Coolant circulator and fan circuit: (2) 1.0 ampere and (1) 0.63 ampere
3. Inside electrical enclosure:
a. Motor control circuit: (2) 0.4 ampere
AVOID ELECTRIC SHOCK. Disconnect the power to the compressor before
replacing fuses.
AVOID ELECTRIC SHOCK. Permit only qualified electrical technicians to open
electrical enclosures, to perform electrical checks or to perform tests with the
power supply connected and wiring exposed. Failure to observe this warning can
result in serious injury or death.
Front Panel:
1. Open fuse holder by grasping cap with fingers, push and rotate counterclockwise.
