If it's initial fireplace operation, a white film may develop on the glass during the first few fires as part of the burn-in process. Clean the glass after each use (AFTER THE GLASS HAS COMPLETELY COOLED). Also, check for Improper vent restrictor setting and improper air shutter opening.
