7.0 MAINTENANCE
DT2010111-01
A
ll maintenance work (cleaning, replacing parts, etc…) should be
carried out when the stove has been extinguished and allowed to
c
ooled. Furthermore, do not in any circumstances use abrasive
substances.
7.1 Cleaning the burner and the burner support - Fig. 31
I
f the flame assumes a reddish colour or becomes weak, accompa-
nied by black smoke, it means that there are deposits of ash and
o
ther substances which are impeding the correct functioning of the
stove and which should be removed.
Every two days, remove the burner by simply lifting it out of its
position. Then clean from it any ash or other material which may
have been allowed to build up, paying particular attention to free up
any blocked holes with a pointed implement (fig 31).
This operation should be carried out at every startup, especially
if pellets other than those supplied by Piazzetta have been used.
The intervals between cleaning should be dictated by the regulari-
ty of the stove’s use by the choice of fuel.
It is always worthwhile checking the burner’s support freeing it
of any ash.
Before lighting the stove ensure that the burner is pushed
back towards the shield.
7.2 Cleaning the ash drawer
Every two days, check the ash drawer to see if it needs to be emp-
tied. For the removal of ash see section 5.8.
7.3 Cleaning the combustion chamber - Fig. 32-33
The combustion chamber should be cleaned once a week as follows:
Remove the inter
nal shield raising it gently and using the flaps as
handles, then rotate it and tilt it in order to slide it through the
mouth of the combustion chamber (fig 32, 33).
Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any ash acccumulated in the
combustion chamber.
Having cleaned the chamber thor
oughly r
eplace the par
ts in
reverse order paying particular attention to the positioning of the
inter
nal shield: it should sit snugly beside the catches on the inte
-
rior of the chamber (the two catches should remain in front of the
shield).
This type of cleaning requires a vacuum cleaner suitable for
holding ash.
