ATX Main PWR & CPU
PWR Connectors
The 24-pin main power connector
(JPW1) is used to provide power to
the motherboard. The 8-pin CPU
PWR connector (JPW3) is also
required for the processors. These
power connectors meet the SSI EPS
12V specifi cation. See the table on
the right for pin defi nitions of these
connectors.
4-Pin Power Connectors
In addition to the ATX main power
and the CPU PWR connectors, the
4-pin 12V PWR connector, located
at JPW2, is also required to provide
power to the South Bridge, North
Bridge and all VRMs. Use the 4-pin
12V/5V PWR connector at JPW4 to
provide additional power to the add-
on cards installed on the PCI-E slots
when needed. See the table on the
right for pin defi nitions.
