After
the
crankcase
bolts
have
been
tightened,
check
if
driveshaft
and
countershaft
rotate
smoothly.
e
|f
a
large
resistance
is
felt
to
rotation,
try
to
free
the
shafts
by
tapping
the
driveshaft
or
countershaft
with
a
plastic
hammer
as
shown
in
the
Fig.
CAM
DRIVEN
GEAR
e
Install
the
gear
shifting
pawls
into
the
cam
driven
gear.
The
large
shoulder
(A)
must
face
to
the
outside
as
shown
in
the
illustration.
e
When
installing
the
cam
guide
(and
pawl
lifter@,
apply
a
small
quantity
of
THREAD
LOCK
“1342”
to
the
securing
screws
(3)

GEARSHIFT
SHAFT
e
Fit
a
spring
to
the
gearshift
shaft
correctly.
e
Install
the
gearshift
shaft.
Match
the
center
teeth
of
the
gear
on
the
gearshift
shaft
with
the
center
teeth
on
the
cam
driven
gear
as
shown.
NOTE:
When
replacing
the
gearshift
arm
stopper
(8),
apply
a
small
quantity
of
THREAD
LOCK
SUPER
“1303”
to
the
threaded
part
of
the
stopper
and
tighten
it
to
the
specified
torque.

7-18)
e
Fit
the
gearshift
cover
and
tighten
the
bolts
NOTE:
After
the
gearshift
cover
and
gearshift
lever
have
been
fitted,
confirm
that
gear
change
is
normal
while
turning
the
countershaft
and
driveshaft.
If
gear
change
is
not
obtained,
it
means
that
assembly
of
gears
or
installation
of
gearshift
fork
is
incorrect.
If
this
is
the
case,
diagonally.

trace
