ENGINE 3-5
• Remove the two wire clamps.
• Disconnect the starter motor lead wire 1.
• Disconnect the generator lead wire 2 and coupler 3.
• Remove the gearshift lever by removing its mounting bolt.
• Remove the engine sprocket cover by removing the bolts.

Do not operate the clutch lever to prevent clutch piston
retainer damage.
• Loosen the rear axle nut 5 and chain adjusters 6 to provide
additional chain slack.
• Flatten the lock washer.
• Remove the engine sprocket nut while depressing the rear brake
pedal.
# Engine sprocket nut: 115 N
.
m (11.5 kgf-m)
• Remove the engine sprocket.
