After making sure that the engine
is warm, apply the rear brake and
then release the parking brake. To
release the parking brake, simply
squeeze the rear brake lever until
the parking brake lock releases.
While holding the rear brake,
engage first gear by lifting up on
the gearshift lever. To start mov-
ing, release the brake, then grad-
ually open the throttle. When the
vehicle’s speed has increased,
release the throttle and lift the
gearshift lever to engage second
gear. You can select third, fourth
and top gear in succession by
repeating this shifting sequence.
Reduce vehicle speed before
shifting down. To shift down,
release the throttle and shift down
to engage a lower gear.
WARNING
Failure to use extra care when
operating this ATV on unfamil-
iar terrain can be hazardous.
You can come upon hidden
rocks, bumps, or holes, without
enough time to react. This
could cause the ATV to over-
turn or go out of control.
Go slowly and be extra careful
when operating on unfamiliar
terrain. Always be alert to
changing terrain conditions
when operating the ATV.
WARNING
The ATV can start moving as
soon as you release the park-
ing brake.
Unexpected movement can
cause you to lose control of the
ATV.
Make sure you shift into neutral
and apply the rear brake before
you release the parking brake.
