When the engine is
stopped automati-
cally by the ENG A-

The engine has restarted automatically because either of the
following conditions occurred.
• The difference between the set temperature of the air condi-
tioner and the interior air temperature became big.
• The defroster is turned on.
• Brake booster vacuum pressure is low.
• The battery continues to be discharged.
• Short beep

The engine stalled because the hood is opened after the
engine is stopped automatically.
To restart the engine, follow the procedure below.
1) Set the parking brake firmly, and then place the gearshift
lever in the “N” (Neutral position) (for manual transmission)
or “P” position (for CVT).
2) Securely close the engine hood.
3) Press the engine switch to restart the engine.

The engine has restarted automatically because either of the
following operations was performed.
• The driver’s seat belt is unfastened.
• The driver’s door is opened.
Before driving, close the door and buckle the seat belt. In
addition, before getting out of the vehicle, follow the procedure
below.
1) Set the parking brake firmly, and then place the gearshift
lever in the “N” (Neutral position) (for manual transmission)
or “P” position (for CVT).
2) When the vehicle will be stopped for a long time or when
you will leave the vehicle unattended, press the engine
switch to stop the engine.
