NOTE: Wipe up any spilled oil com-
pletely.
CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL AND
FILTER
Change the engine oil and oil filter at
the scheduled times. The engine should
always be warm when the oil is
changed so the oil will drain easily. The
procedure is as follows:
1. Place the motorcycle on the side
stand.
2. Remove the oil filler cap
3.
3. Remove the drain plug
4 and gas-
ket
5 from the bottom of the engine
and drain the engine oil into a drain
pan.
NOTICE
If any dirt enters from the oil filler
opening, it may damage the engine.
Check that there is no dust, mud, or
foreign matter adhering to the oil
container, and ensure that foreign
material does not enter via the oil
filler opening.
