Overview

The SWAGTRON® EB5 Pro Plus eBike is a compact, zero-emissions, personal transportation device designed to offer the fun of a traditional bike with an added electric boost. This folding electric bike is environmentally-friendly, utilizing high-quality components and industry-leading safety features. It's designed for riders who want a portable and reliable mode of transport that is eco-friendly and all-electric with zero emissions.

To ensure safe operation, it is crucial to read and follow all instructions in the user manual carefully before riding. The device requires coordination, agility, and balance, and users should exercise their best judgment to determine if they can operate it safely.

Function Description:

The EB5 Pro Plus eBike operates by either pressing the power button to engage power-assisted mode or by pedaling. Once the power is on, riders can move forward by twisting the throttle. To stop, the throttle should be released, and both the front and rear brakes should be squeezed to slow the wheels down. The eBike is equipped with a bell to alert pedestrians and other riders. A display on the handlebars shows the remaining battery charge, reminding riders to ensure the battery is fully charged before long-distance rides.

Usage Features:

The eBike is designed for convenience and adjustability.

  • Assembly: The head tube can be pulled upright and secured with a latch and lock. The stem, which holds the handlebars, can be inserted into the head tube, and its height adjusted by opening and closing a head clamp.
  • Folding and Unfolding: The eBike features a folding mechanism for easy storage and transport. To unfold, the rear wheel section is extended, and the latch is pushed closed and locked parallel to the frame. The head tube and handlebars are then pulled upright, and the latch is folded up and locked into place. For folding, the process is reversed: the head tube latch is unlocked and pulled down, allowing the head tube and handlebars to fold against the front wheel. The frame can also be folded by unlocking and opening a latch, then folding the rear wheel section towards the bike. The pedals can also be folded or unfolded by holding the crank arm vertical.
  • Adjustable Handlebars: For comfortable riding, the handlebar height can be adjusted. Typically, handlebar height and seat height should be similar. To adjust, the clamp on the head tube is opened, the stem is pulled up or pushed down to the desired height, and then the latch is closed to secure it. The direction of the handlebars can also be rotated and adjusted by unfolding a clamp, rotating them to a comfortable position, and then flipping the clamp closed.
  • Adjustable Seat Height: Proper seat height is essential for better pedaling, safety, and overall comfort. The rider's leg length determines the ideal seat position. When pedaling, hips should remain level, and legs should not over-extend. To find the right height, sit on the eBike with one pedal at its lowest point and place the ball of your foot on the pedal; the knee should bend slightly. When placing the heel on the pedal, the leg should be nearly straight. To adjust, open the clamp under the seat post, pull the seat up or push it down, ensuring the seat post is fully inserted into the frame and the seat head is parallel with the frame. Finally, close the clamp to secure the seat.
  • Detachable Battery: The EB5 Pro Plus battery can be removed for convenience. To do this, the bike should first be folded. The lock is switched upwards to unlock the battery, then the handle is lifted to pull the battery out. To reinstall, the battery is reinserted into the frame, and the lock is switched downwards.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance ensures a longer lifespan and smooth riding experience.

  • Charging: The eBike must be turned off during charging. The charging adapter and cable are connected, and the rubber stopper covering the charging port is removed. One end of the charging cable is inserted into the charging port, and the other end is connected to a wall outlet. The first charge should be at least 5 hours, with subsequent charges averaging 4-5 hours. The adapter's indicator light turns red while charging and green when fully recharged. It is crucial to stop charging and unplug the unit once the battery is full. The charging environment should be clean and dry, and the eBike should not be charged if the port is damp or has liquid on it. Charging in extremely hot or cold environments should be avoided for maximum battery efficiency. Only the provided battery and charging cable should be used.
  • Tire Inflation: A pressure gauge and standard bicycle pump are needed. The eBike should be powered off and stable. Tires should be visually inspected for damage; if damaged, they should not be inflated, and customer service should be contacted. The valve cap is removed, air is slowly pumped to 35-45 PSI (2.4-3.1 BAR), and the pressure is checked periodically with a gauge. The valve cap is replaced once the desired pressure is reached. Under-inflation is recommended for riding outdoors in temperatures above 90°F, by deflating tires by 3-5 PSI, to prevent damage from high temperatures.
  • Cleaning: The outer body should be wiped with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Wheels should be checked for blockages. The eBike has an IPX4 water-resistance rating, meaning it can withstand splashes but should not be submerged in water. Water and liquids should be kept away from electric parts and the battery.
  • Storage: Before storing, the eBike should be fully charged to prevent battery over-discharge. For storage longer than one month, the battery should be discharged and recharged at least once a month. The eBike should be covered to keep dust out and not stored in dusty environments.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Always wear appropriate clothing and safety gear, including shoes, kneepads, elbow pads, and an ASTM F1492 approved helmet.
  • Avoid loose clothing that can get caught in the wheels. Wear closed-toe, flat shoes.
  • Regularly inspect the bike before each ride, especially for long distances. Check tires for proper inflation and cracks, cables and housings for fraying or corrosion, and brakes for proper function and pad damage.
  • Ensure all nuts and bolts are taut and properly fastened.
  • Do not attempt to repair or modify the eBike, as this can void warranties. Only authorized repair centers should service the device.
  • Adhere to local laws regarding personal transportation devices.
  • The eBike is considered a motor vehicle and should not be ridden under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Always keep feet on the pedals while riding.
  • Ensure tires are intact with no punctures.
  • Maintain a safe speed and be ready to stop at any time.
  • Keep a safe distance from other riders.
  • Be aware of surroundings to avoid obstacles and slippery surfaces.
  • Ride in open, flat areas, avoiding steep slopes or high-traffic areas until comfortable.
  • Only ride where permitted and comply with local laws, giving way to pedestrians.
  • Never ride at high speeds, on uneven terrain, or steep slopes.
  • Never perform stunts, carry passengers, or heavy items.
  • Never ride in the rain.
  • Never use the eBike in a way that could cause personal injury or property damage.
  • Never get off the eBike while it is in motion.

Failure to follow these guidelines increases the risk of serious injury or, in rare cases, death.
