Do you have a question about the Switch-Ed Vibe-Lite Switch and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Vibe-Lite Switch is a durable and easy-to-use assistive technology device designed for users with special needs, offering a range of features for cause-and-effect learning and controlling external equipment or switch-adapted toys.

Function Description:

The Vibe-Lite Switch is an electronic switch with hidden features, allowing it to control external equipment or switch-adapted toys. It incorporates three in-built programs: Momentary/Direct, Latched, and Timed, which are recognized as foundational for cause-and-effect learning. The device provides tactile feedback through in-built vibration and visual feedback via an illuminated switch pad. Users can connect their favorite toy, select a program (Momentary, Latch, or Timed), and then decide whether to activate the vibration or lights.

Usage Features:

  1. Turning On: Flip the Vibe-Lite over, locate the toggle switch on the underside, and slide it to the "On" position. To turn off, slide it back to the original position.
  2. Connecting to Toys: Most switch-adapted toys with a 3.5 mm jack socket will work. For toys with a 6.3 mm jack socket (1/4 inch), a jack adapter will be required.
  3. Program Selection:
    • Momentary/Direct: The output operates only while the switch pad is pressed. This is selected by ensuring Dip switches 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are all in the "Off" position.
    • Latched: The switch operates indefinitely until a second press is used to turn it off. This is selected by setting Dip switch 1 to "On" and switches 2, 3, 4, and 5 to "Off."
    • Timed: The switch operates for a duration set by the Dip switch settings, ranging from 5 seconds to 120 seconds. This is selected by setting Dip switch 2 to "On," and then using a combination of switches 3, 4, and 5 to select the desired time.

    • Light Blink (Switch 8 - On): Illuminates the switch pad once every four seconds, creating a "blinking" light effect.
    • Light On O/P (Switch 8 - Off): The switch pad illuminates to mimic the time the toy is switched on, copying the output relay.
  2. Setting Vibration Function (Dip Switch 7):
    • Vibration On (Switch 7 - On): The switch pad vibrates when pressed, providing tactile feedback.
    • Vibration Off (Switch 7 - Off): Turns the vibration function off.
  3. Mounting: The Vibe-Lite includes a mounting bracket. An M4 x 16mm screw is used to secure the mounting plate, with the lip facing down.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Changing Batteries: The Vibe-Lite uses two AA batteries. When batteries are exhausted, remove the two battery bay covers using a cross-point screwdriver. Replace the old batteries with new ones, observing the correct polarity (+ on the battery to + on the Vibe-Lite), and then refit the battery bay covers.
  2. Battery Disposal Warning: Batteries should not be disposed of in household waste but must be taken to a suitable public disposal point.
  3. Warranty: The product comes with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects in material and workmanship.
