If your Sycamore Portable Generator engine won't start or runs roughly, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the generator switch is set to the "ON" position and the fuel valve is also in the “ON” position. Check the fuel level and, if necessary, fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel, ensuring there's no water in the gasoline. A dirty air cleaner can also cause issues, so clean or replace it. Also, make sure the spark plug wire is securely connected. If the engine is over choked, set the choke to the close position. Finally, check the oil level and fill the crankcase to the proper level if it's low.
