Here, your machine is connected to an internal network. No dial-in parameters are required.
Only the settings shown on Page 2 are necessary. Select Network Direct and press the
Page 2 button (see Fig. 1.0). Please contact your network administrator to procure the data
and enter it accordingly.
• Network – VPN
This generally applies to ADSL users. The required data, e.g. telephone number, user
name and password, may be obtained from your network provider. Select Network – VPN
as your connection and enter the settings. Now proceed to Page 2 (Fig. 1.0) where the
following data should be entered and activated:
- Deactivate Disable DNS
- Enter DNS 1
- Enter DNS 2
- Deactivate Use DHCP
- Enter IP address
- Enter subnet mask
Your Internet provider will provide you with the data required for the settings.
• Network – PPPOE
For TDSL users. The required data, e.g. telephone number, user name and password, may
be obtained from your network provider. Select Network – PPPOE as your connection and
enter the settings. Now proceed to Page 2 (Fig. 1.0) where the following data should be
entered and activated:
- Activate Disable DNS
- Deactivate Use DHCP
- Enter IP address
- Enter subnet mask
Your Internet provider will provide you with the data required for the settings.
You may also connect several machines with one another and then connect to the Internet.
A hardware router which creates the connection to the Internet through a data transfer
connection is required for this. A data transfer connection is, for example, an ADSL link. A
network card is installed in the PCs and configured for a local network (see Network Direct
settings). The PCs are then connected to the router and this in turn is connected to the data
transfer connection.
