What to do if my Taylor Freezer will not operate in Beater or Auto mode?
    • J
      John BergAug 18, 2025
If your Taylor Freezer won't operate in Beater or Auto mode, first, check if the machine is plugged into the wall receptacle. If it is, check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker and replace the fuse or turn the breaker on. Also, the beater motor may be out on overload. Allow the motor to cool, then press the AUTO key. If the beater motor goes out on overload again, contact a service technician.

If the product from your Taylor Freezer is too soft, it might be because the freezer is in a defrost cycle; wait for the cycle to end. Otherwise, the consistency control needs adjustment, or the torque coupling is bound in a cold position, or the springs in the torque coupling are broken. For these issues, contact a service technician.

      Tina SanchezAug 26, 2025
If there's no compressor operation in Auto mode on your Taylor Freezer, it could be due to several reasons. The beater motor may be out on overload; allow the motor to cool, press the AUTO key, and if the beater motor goes out on overload again, contact a service technician. Alternatively, the torque coupling may be bound in the cold position, the condenser may be dirty, or the water supply may be off. For the torque coupling, contact a service technician. Clean the condenser monthly. Turn the water on if it's off.

If you are unable to remove the driveshaft from the rear shell bearing of your Taylor Freezer, it may be due to rounded corners of the hex end of the driveshaft, drive coupling, or both. Replace the driveshaft, or contact a service technician to replace the direct drive unit. Another reason is lubrication of the hex end of the driveshaft. Do not lubricate the hex end; if necessary, contact a service technician for removal.
