1.
Connect
the
deck
to
the
test
equipment
as
shown
in
Fig,
4-7.
2.
Press
the
EJECT
button
to
open
the
cassette
holder.
3.
Insert
the
head
check
jig(A)
into
the
cassette
holder
very
carefully
until
its
bottom
edge
rests
on
the
bottom
of
the
cassette
holder.
4.
Close
the
cassette
holder
and
push
the
jig
in
firmly.
Select
forward
or
reverse
play
mode
to
raise
the
heads.
6.
Press
the
head
check
jig(B)
firmly
to
the
head
check
jig(A)
as
shown
in
Fig.
4-8,
and
adjust
the
REC/PLAY
head
height
by
turning
the
height
adj.
screw
so
that
the
head
check
jig(B)
can
just
pass
through
smoothly
between
the
tape
guides.
Be
sure
that
the
final
turn
of
the
screw
is
in
the
clockwise
direction
(same
for
all
subsequent
adjustments
of
screws).
7.
tn
the
same
way
as
above,
press
the
head
check
jig(B)
to
the
head
check
jig(A)
as
shown
in
Fig.
4-9,
and
turn
the
tilt
adj.
screw
of
the
REC/PLAY
head
so
that
the
head
surface
is
exactly
perpendicular
to
the
head
check
jig(B).
Check,
on
this
occasion,
that
the
top
of
the
head
check
jig(B)
is
in
the
range
of
the
two
indicated
line
markers.
8.
Repeat
steps
6
and
7
until
both
height
and
tilt
adjustments
are
complete.
9.
Load
a
TEAC
MTT-150
test
tape
and
play
it
in
the
reverse
direction.
10.
Make
sure
that
the
phase
relationship
between
L-ch
and
R-ch
signals
is
within
45
degrees
on
the
oscilloscope.
11
Load
a
TEAC
MTT-356
test
tape
and
play
its
12.5
kHz
signal
section
in
the
reverse
direction.
12.
Turn
the
REC/PLAY
head’s
REV
azimuth
adj.
screw
so
that
the
playback
output
levels
of
both
channels
are
at
the
maximum
value.
,
13.
Loosen
the
screw
indicated
by
A
in
Fig.
4-12.
14.
Repeat
steps
9
through
12
with
these
exceptions:
To
turn
the
eccentric
spacer,
use
the
adjustment
spanner
especially
prepared
by
TEAC.

play
mode.
Azimuth
adjuster:
