Introduction
Thank you for buying the TEAC X-2000(M)
tape deck.
The X-2000(M) incorporates a variety of
functions and features including dbx* Noise
Reduction (Type I), an Auto-Locator func-
tion which is convenient in replay and
editing and block repeat. To maintain very
stable tape motion with optimum tape
tension, it uses a full tension servo control
system in which a photo-interrupter senses
the position of the tension arm so that the
servo mechanism can adjust the torque of
the reel motor. This mechanism eliminates
the need for manual switching when using
different types of reels. In the design of
the electronic circuits the same concepts
were applied, especially for the high level
recording required by professionals. So that
you get the best possible results from your
deck and realize its full potential as a
master tape deck, please read this manual
carefully.

Cette platine comporte une grande variété
de fonctions et de caractéristiques, y com-
pris la réduction du bruit dbx* (Type I), la
répétition de blocs et une fonction de locali-
sation automatique qui est trés commode
pour la lecture répétée le montage. Pour
maintenir une vitesse de bande trés stable
avec une tension de bande optimale, elle
utilise un systéme de commande d’asser-
vissement de tension dans lequel une cellule
photo détecte [a position du bras de tension
pour que le mécanisme d’asservissement
puisse régler la torque du moteur de la
bobine. Ce mécanisme élimine la nécessité
de commutation manuelle lors de |’utilisa-
tion de différents types de bobines. Pour la
construction des circuits électroniques, les
mémes concepts ont été appliqués, en
particulier pour l’enregistrement de haut
niveau requis par les professionnels. Pour
