Ordinary recording
To tape record FM and AM broadcasts, make the recording
from connections made to the recording (“REC OUT’’)
terminals of the amplifier, in the same way as for record-
ing of other program sources.
Connections should be made between the output (‘‘OUT-
PUT’) terminals of this unit and the tuner (‘‘TUNER”’)
terminals of the amplifier, and from the tape deck to the
tape deck terminals (‘‘TAPE DECK’’) of the amplifier.

@ Set the input selector of the amplifier to the ‘‘tuner’’
position.
@ Push the ‘rec ievel check’’ selector pushbutton® of
this unit (—— m).
@ As a result of steps@ and @ above, a signa! of about
440 Hz wili be emitted from the output (““OUTPUT’’)
terminals of this unit and through the recording (‘REC
OUT") terminals of the amplifier. Watching the meters
of the tape deck, use either the output level contro!® of
this unit or the input level control of the tape deck to
adjust the recording level.
- For a cassette tape deck, make the adjustment so that
the indication needles indicate about —2 dB.
- For an open-reel tape deck, make the adjustment so
that the indication needles indicate about 0 dB.
* Note that the optimum recording level value may vary
depending upon the program source and the tape deck
itself. Determine the correct recording level in con-
sideration of all conditions.
© Push the ‘‘FM” or “AM" selector pushbutton@ (f— m),
tune to the broadcast to be recorded, and begin the
recording.
To record directly from this unit
Connect the recording (‘‘REC OUT") terminals of this unit
to the input (“LINE IN’) terminals of the tape deck.

The output level contro!@® has no effect upon the signals
from the recording (‘REC OUT’’) terminals of this unit; the
signals are always at a constant level. The recording level,
therefore, can only be adjusted by using the input level
control of the tape deck.
