Once the vehicle has been accelerated, a stabilisation phase follows
while values are acquired.
Data acquisition
in progress
At the end of stabilisation phase after acceleration, vehicle
deceleration is requested.
DECELERATE
The test is carried out as required by the regulations in force.
At least three measurement accelerations are required.
If the average value of the three measured opacity peak values is
within limits,
the test is ended with POSITIVE outcome.
If the average value is far beyond limit values (more than 1.5 times)
the test is ended with NEGATIVE outcome. In other cases subsequent
accelerations are performed, up to maximum 8.
(Accelerations
as prescribed by
regulation)
At the end of peak measurement phase, the test outcome is displayed

After the 6th acceleration the operator is asked whether he/she
intends to continue or to interrupt the test.
In the affirmative case, test continues until 8th acceleration.
In the negative case, test is ended.
Do you wish to continue?
►Yes
No
In case of very low measured opacity values, for example
when measuring last generation vehicles, confirmation is requested
regarding test correct running.
It has to be checked that the low value depends on the vehicle and
not on the probe, which may have been disconnected from the
exhaust tail pipe.
To edit the reply press arrow up or down keys.
To start, confirm by pressing the key .
In the POSITIVE case, acceleration is to be considered valid.
In the NEGATIVE case, acceleration is to be repeated.
