The Vega Model IP-1616 is an eight-line, full-featured desktop control console designed for use with conventional radio systems, leveraging VoIP technology. It functions as a self-contained, dual-processor-based console, eliminating the need for a separate CEB or under-the-desk CPU equipment.
The IP-1616 facilitates radio and telephone crosspatch control, making it suitable for various applications including police and fire departments, utility and energy companies, railroad and airline industries, and US Forestry and BLM agencies. It supports the control of a crosspatch between two or all eight of its lines, allowing the dispatcher to communicate within the crosspatch group or operate on other unused channels. The console is compatible with other Vega VoIP products such as the C-6200, IP-223, and C-Soft, enabling remote control of Motorola, M/A Com, Daniels, Kenwood, and other tone or direct-connected radios. This offers a migration path for users to gradually adopt the benefits of VoIP.
The IP-1616 offers sixteen frequency control options and supports simplex/full duplex operation (field programmable). It features a four-line Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) that provides channel alphanumeric indication, a 12/24-hour clock, and an audio-level display.
Front panel controls include:
Standard features include:
The console can be easily connected to any internal Ethernet network via a standard 10/100 baseT cable, allowing for an unlimited number of IP-1616 consoles to have full control and functionality over the system. Programming is done by connecting to the Ethernet port and using a web browser. Unlike analog circuits, any number of consoles can be put in parallel without causing loading issues.
The IP-1616 is designed with field-upgradeable software. It includes SNTP Based Network Clock Synchronization and QOS (Quality of Service) packet marking built-in.
The device supports various microphone options:
