DRIVING
CRUISE CONTROL
To operate cruise control
• Press the end of the cruise control
lever (you must be driving over 20
mph). The light on the lever turns on.
• Accelerate until you reach your
desired cruising speed.
• Briefly move the cruise
control lever up or down, then
release.
The speedometer displays the
CRUISE ON message and an
indicator shows the set speed.
Driving in cruise control
You can accelerate as usual to increase
your speed, but when you release the
accelerator, Model S returns to your
set speed.
To pause and resume cruise
control
To temporarily pause cruise control, briefly
push the cruise control lever away from
you. The message on the instrument
panel turns off, but the set speed remains
displayed. To resume at the previously set
speed, briefly pull the cruise control lever
toward you.
To increase or decrease cruising speed
For 1 mph increments, push the lever up
(increase) or down (decrease) to the first
position.
For 5 mph increments, push the lever
up (increase) or down (decrease) to the
second position.
To adjust speed by 2 mph per second,
hold the lever in the up (increase) or down
(decrease) position, then release when you
reach your desired speed.
To turn o cruise control
Press the end of the cruise control lever. The light on the lever turns off.
NOTES:
Cruise control is cancelled and the set speed is cleared if you press the
brake, drive below 20 mph, or if you shift into R (Reverse), P (Park) or N
(Neutral) while driving.
When adjusting the set cruising speed, it may take several seconds for
Model S to make the adjustment.
