INSTRUMENT PANEL AT A GLANCE
Use the left steering wheel buttons to control Media
player. You can also press and roll the scroll wheel to
change what displays on the left side of the instrument
panel.
Use the right steering wheel buttons to use voice
commands, handle telephone calls and control some
features of ModelS. You can also press and roll the
scroll wheel to customize what displays on the right
side of the instrument panel.
Indicator lights flash briefly
as the vehicle gets ready
to drive (see page 5).
Pay attention to warning messages
that display in this area.
Lock/unlock status, vehicle mileage, outside temperature and
date/time display across the bottom.
If you turn off Traction Control, this
message displays.
The instrument panel changes to display information related to the current situation:
When driving (or ready to drive), the center circle displays speed, power meter, charge
level, estimated range*, and active gear.
When parked, the center circle displays
estimated range* and status of doors.
When plugged in, the instrument panel displays
charging information (see page 17).
*To change how range, touch CONTROLS > SETTINGS > UNITS & FORMAT. You can display “Ideal” or “Rated” range. Ideal is based on driving a steady 55 mph on a flat road whereas Rated is based
on metrics determined as a result of EPA testing.

status of doors.
