Why does my Texas Trimmer engine not run on full power and smoke heavily?
    • Y
      yangkatherineAug 17, 2025
If your Texas Trimmer engine isn't running on full power and is smoking heavily, the fuel mix might be off; try using new fuel with the correct mix. Also, a dirty air filter could be the cause, so clean or replace it.

What to do if the line cannot be pulled forward on my Texas Trimmer?
    • B
      Becky RyanAug 20, 2025
If the line on your Texas Trimmer cannot be pulled forward, it could be due to several reasons. The line might be melted together, in which case you should replace it, avoiding using the tool too close to stones and walls. It could also be that there's too little line, so fit more line. If the line is worn short, pull out more line while alternately pressing the line head down and letting go. Another possibility is that the line is entangled; remove the line from the spool and fit it again. Lastly, the rotations of the engine might be too slow, so pull out more line at full speed.

If grass is wrapping around the gear head or line head of your Texas Trimmer, it may be because tall grass is being cut at the base. Try cutting the grass from the top downwards. Also, ensure the trimmer is used at full speed.

If the spool head on your Texas Trimmer is difficult to turn, the threads might be dirty, damaged, or full of grass. Clean the threads, grease or change the spool head, and remove any grass.

Why is oil leaking from the exhaust of my Texas Trimmer?
    • D
      Dean VargasSep 9, 2025
If oil is leaking from the exhaust of your Texas Trimmer, it may be because the trimmer is not used on full power, so use full power. Another cause might be an incorrect fuel mix, so use new fuel and the correct two-stroke mix. Also, a dirty air filter could be the problem; clean or replace it.

What to do if my Texas Trimmer engine does not start?
    • K
      Keith KramerNov 13, 2025
If your Texas Trimmer engine doesn't start, there could be several reasons. It might be due to no spark. In that case, check the spark plug by taking it off, placing the spark plug cap on it, and putting the spark plug on the metal cylinder. Pull the starter and see if there are sparks on the top of the spark plug. If not, repeat with a new spark plug. Another reason could be no fuel, so press the fuel primer. Also, the engine might be drowned. To fix this, remove the spark plug and turn the trimmer so the spark plug hole faces the ground. Switch the choke to 'RUN' and pull the starter 10-15 times. Clean the spark plug, refit it, or replace it. Then, pull the starter 3 times with the choke on 'RUN'. If it still doesn't start, move the choke to 'Choke' and use the normal starting procedure....
