FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Extended conguration
In the EXTENDED conguration, the SME2-IS connects directly to the router/UP and to the DY 800.
When a fault occurs, the SME2-IS transmits the information to the router/UP, which starts the auto-
mation function.
The automations on the router/UP send a series of IEC 61850 messages to the SME2-IS, to handle the
operation of the DY 800 and run the reclosing cycle if necessary.
The interface mode can be selected by setting the parameter Device conguration, in the Set\
Base menu.
Regardless of the conguration, one can also select the type of operation from the following options:
1. FSL1: BLIND wait always active
2. FSL2: BLIND wait for rst fault occurrence only
3. FRT
The automation mode can be selected by setting the parameter Selected automation function
in the menu Set \ Base.
