This document describes the Tommee Tippee Baby Food Maker, a versatile appliance designed to assist with the weaning process by preparing baby food.

Function Description:

The Tommee Tippee Baby Food Maker is an integrated appliance capable of both steaming and blending food. It allows users to prepare fresh, homemade baby food with ease. The device supports various food types including vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. It offers different modes of operation:

Automatic Steam to Blend Cycle: This mode allows for continuous steaming followed by blending, providing a smooth, integrated food preparation process. The blades rotate periodically during the steaming phase to circulate food.
Steam and Blend with Basket: This mode is designed for creating thicker textures with less water. Food is steamed in a basket, then transferred to the jug for blending.
Steam Only Cycle: Users can steam food without blending, either directly in the jug or in the steaming basket.
Blend Only Cycle: This mode allows for blending pre-cooked or raw ingredients to achieve desired textures. A pulse blending option is available for precise texture control.

The device is equipped with an LCD screen for displaying settings and a control panel with mode selection, start/stop, and +/- buttons for adjusting time. It also features a "Smart Memory Function" that can recall the last used cycle within 30 minutes, excluding specific steaming and blending modes with the basket.

Important Technical Specifications:

Power Supply: The device operates on mains power. Users are advised to check the voltage compatibility (220-240V, 50/60Hz, 250W (Blender 100W)) as indicated on the appliance's label.
Water Tank Capacity: The water tank should be filled with 350ml of cold water for steaming.
Food Capacity: The maximum recommended food volume per cycle is 200g. The MAX fill line in the jug should not be exceeded when using the blend-only cycle.
Safety Features: The appliance will not operate if the lid is not correctly fitted and locked, or if the jug/basket is not properly assembled. It will automatically stop and beep if the jug is loosened or removed during a cycle. The device is fitted with a BS 1363 mains plug containing a 5A fuse.
Materials: The appliance is designed for use with stainless steel.

Usage Features:

Initial Setup: Before first use, the appliance requires assembly of the blade, jug, basket, and lid. The water tank must be filled. A 30-minute steam cycle without food is recommended for initial cleaning.
Food Preparation: Food should be cut into approximately 1-2cm pieces before placing it in the jug or basket. Steaming times vary by food type (e.g., potatoes 15 min, apples 10 min, fish 15 min, chicken 25 min).
Texture Control: Blending times can be adjusted to achieve different textures suitable for various weaning stages.
- Stage One (Smooth Puree): Approximately 2 minutes of blending.
- Stage Two (Soft Lumps): Approximately 20-30 seconds of blending.
- Stage Three (Thicker Texture): Approximately 4-10 seconds of blending.
Nutrient Retention: Water collected in the jug during steaming and blending is rich in nutrients and can be used to achieve a smoother consistency. For thicker textures, this water can be discarded.
Pause Function: A cycle can be paused indefinitely by holding the mode button for three seconds. The jug can be removed during pause, but caution is advised as it may be hot.
Cancel Function: A cycle can be stopped by holding the start button for three seconds.
Temperature Check: Always check food temperature before feeding to ensure it is suitable for the baby. Stir steamed food thoroughly to ensure even heating.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning: The appliance should be cleaned after each use. The jug, lid, and basket can be washed with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher (top shelf only). The blade, sealing ring, and locking ring should be washed with warm soapy water and dried thoroughly; these parts are not dishwasher safe. The entire jug should be wiped with a damp cloth but not submerged in water. Abrasive cleaners, solvents, strong chemicals, bleach, or metal objects/steel wool should not be used.
Descaling: The water tank should be descaled every four weeks, or more frequently if limescale buildup is observed. Descaling can be done using a descaling agent suitable for stainless steel or white vinegar, following the manufacturer's instructions. After descaling, a final cleaning cycle (as per initial setup) should be performed.
Storage: The appliance should be stored in a clean, dry place.
Troubleshooting: The manual provides solutions for common issues, such as the appliance not starting (check assembly, water tank, lid orientation), error codes (E1 for low water, E2 for smart memory function with changed lid orientation), and reduced efficiency (suggests descaling).
Disposal: The product is marked with the WEEE symbol, indicating that it should not be disposed of with general household waste. It should be taken to designated collection points for proper recycling.

The Tommee Tippee Baby Food Maker is intended for domestic use only and not for outdoor use. It is not suitable for cooking rice, pasta, heating liquids, chopping hard ingredients, preparing frozen foods, defrosting, reheating, or warming baby bottles/jars. Users are advised to keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children and to use it in a well-ventilated area due to steam. The appliance's surfaces can become hot during use.
