together,andtherearunitsoperatetogether.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lower
thecuttingunits,stoptheengine,engagethe
parkingbrake,andmovetheEnable/Disable
switchtodisableposition.
2.Unlockandraisetheseattoexposethebacklap
levers(Figure93).
3.Makeinitialreeltobedknifeadjustments
appropriateforbacklappingonallcuttingunits
whicharetobebacklapped;refertothecutting
unitOperator'sManual.
4.Starttheengineandrunatlowidlespeed.
DANGER
Changingtheenginespeedwhile
backlappingmaycausethereelstostall.
•Neverchangetheenginespeedwhile
backlapping.
•Onlybacklapatidleenginespeed.
5.Selecteitherfront,rear,orbothbacklaplevers
todeterminewhichunitstobacklap(Figure93).
DANGER
Toavoidpersonalinjury,becertainthat
youareclearofthecuttingunitsbefore
proceeding.
6.WiththeMow/Transportleverinthemow
position,movetheEnable/Disableswitchto
theEnableposition.MovetheLowerMow/Lift
controlforwardtostartthebacklappingoperation
onthedesignatedreels.
7.Applylappingcompoundwithalonghandle
brush.Neveruseashorthandledbrush.
