IgnitionSwitch
Theignitionswitch(Figure11),usedtostartandshut
offtheengine,has3positions:OFF,RUN,andSTART.
RotatethekeyclockwisetotheSTARTpositionto
engagethestartermotor.Releasethekeywhenthe
enginestarts,andthekeymovestotheONposition.
Toshuttheengineoff,rotatethekeycounterclockwise
totheOFFposition.

Tostartacoldengine,closethecarburetorchoke
bymovingthechokecontrol(Figure11)uptothe
CLOSEDposition.Aftertheenginestarts,regulatethe
choketokeeptheenginerunningsmoothly.Assoon
aspossible,openthechokebymovingitdownto
theOPENposition.Awarmenginerequireslittleor
nochoking.
ThrottleControl
Thethrottlecontrollever(Figure11)connectstoand
operatesthethrottlelinkagetothecarburetor.The
controlhas2positions:SLOWandFAST.Theengine
speedcanbevariedbetweenthe2settings.
Note:Youcannotshutofftheenginebyusingthe
throttlecontrol.
LiftLever
Toraisetheattachment,pulltheliftlever(Figure12)
back;tolowertheattachment,pushtheleverforward.
FortheFLOATposition,movetheleverintothedetent
position.Whenyouattainthedesiredposition,release
theleveranditwillreturntoneutral.
