CheckFuelLinesandConnections
CheckfuellinesandconnectionsperiodicallyasrecommendedintheTraction
UnitOperator’sManual.Checklinesfordeterioration,damage,leaking,orloose
connections.Replacehoses,clamps,andconnectionsasnecessary.
DrainandCleanFuelTank
DrainandcleanthefueltankperiodicallyasrecommendedintheTraction
UnitOperator’sManual.Also,drainandcleanthefueltankifthefuelsystem
becomescontaminatedorifthemachineistobestoredforanextendedperiod.
Tocleanfueltank,ushtankoutwithcleansolvent.Ensurethatthetankisfree
ofcontaminatesanddebris.
RemovingtheFuelTank
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdeck(orimplement),shutoff
theengine,engageparkingbrake,andremovekeyfromthekeyswitch.
Openhood.
2.Unplugseatswitchfrommachinewireharness.
3.Removeseatandseatsuspensionfrommachine;refertoRemovingthe
OperatorSeat(page7–20).
4.Removeseatplate(item2inFigure11)frommachine.
5.Removethumbscrewsthatsecurecontrolpanel(item25inFigure11)to
fueltank.Unplugwireharnessconnectionsfrompanelcomponentsand
removepanel.
