1. Park the machine on a level surface to assure the
fuel tank drains completely. Then disengage the
power take off (PTO), set the parking brake,
lower the attachment lift, and turn the ignition
key to “STOP” to stop the engine. Remove the
ignition key.
2. Close the fuel shut–off valve at the fuel tank
(Fig. 38 & 39).

3. Loosen the hose clamp and slide it up the fuel
line away from the fuel shut-off valve (Fig. 39).
4. Pull the fuel line off the fuel shut-off valve (Fig.
39). Some fuel will flow out from the hose as it
is disconnected from the valve. Attach a 5/16 ID
hose to the valve to help drain the fuel into the
container. Open the valve and allow gasoline to
drain into a gas can or drain pan.
IMPORTANT: Do not turn or unscrew the
fuel shut–off valve.
5. Install the fuel line onto the fuel shut-off valve.
Slide the hose clamp close to the valve to secure
the fuel line (Fig. 39). The fuel shut–off valve
should normally be left open, except for service
on the fuel system or when the tractor is
transported on a trailer.
Fuel Filter
Service Interval/Specification
Replace the fuel filter after every 100 operating
hours.
Replacing the Fuel Filter
1. Disengage the power take off (PTO), set the
parking brake, lower the attachment lift, and turn
the ignition key to “STOP” to stop the engine.
Remove the ignition key.
2. Close the fuel shut–off valve at the fuel tank
(Fig. 38 & 39).
3. Open the hood and remove the side panels.
4. Squeeze the ends of the hose clamps together
and slide them away from the filter (Fig. 40).
5. Remove the filter from the fuel lines.
