2.Inspecttheprimarylterfordamagebylooking
intothelterwhileshiningabrightlightonthe
outsideofthelter.Iftheprimarylterisdirty,
bent,ordamaged,replaceit.
Note:Holesinthelterappearasbrightspots.
Donotcleantheprimarylter.
InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandthe
coverinstalled.
1.Ifyouareinstallingnewlters,checkeachlter
forshippingdamage.
Note:Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifyouarereplacingthesafetylter,carefully
slideitintothelterbody(Figure57).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafety
lter(Figure57).
Note:Ensurethattheprimarylterisfully
seatedbypushingontheouterrimwhile
installingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoft,inside
areaofthelter.
4.Installtheair-cleanercoverandsecurethe
latches(Figure57).
ServicingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—For
KohlerEngines—checkthe
engine-oillevel.
Every100hours—ForKohlerEngines—change
theengineoil(moreoftenindirtyordusty
conditions).
Every200hours—ForKohlerEngines—change
theengine-oillter(moreoftenindirtyordusty
conditions).
