Why Toro Lawn Mower vibrates abnormally?
    • S
      Sheila GonzalezSep 22, 2025
If your Toro Lawn Mower is vibrating abnormally, the cutting blade(s) may be bent or unbalanced, so install new cutting blade(s). Check if the blade mounting bolt is loose and tighten it. Also, ensure the engine mounting bolts are tightened. Inspect the engine pulley, idler pulley, or blade pulley for looseness and tighten the appropriate pulley, checking that idler springs are not over stretched. If the engine pulley is damaged, replace it. A bent blade spindle should also be replaced. Finally, check the motor mount for looseness or wear and inspect the mounting bolts.

What to do if Toro 74024 Lawn Mower starter does not crank?
    • C
      Cristian FloydAug 26, 2025
If the starter on your Toro Lawn Mower doesn't crank, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure the blade control switch (PTO) is disengaged. Also, the parking brake must be engaged, so move the motion control levers to the neutral lock (Park) position. A dead battery can also prevent cranking, so charge it. Check the electrical connections for good contact, as corrosion or looseness can be the issue. A worn or damaged switch or a blown fuse can also be culprits; test and replace the faulty switch or replace the fuse accordingly.

Why Toro Lawn Mower engine loses power?
    • T
      Thomas LawsonAug 28, 2025
Your Toro Lawn Mower engine may lose power if the engine load is excessive; reduce the ground speed or raise the height-of-cut. A dirty air cleaner can also cause this, so clean or replace the air cleaner element. Check the oil level in the crankcase and add oil if it's low. Obstructions in the cooling fins and air passages above the engine can lead to power loss, so remove any obstructions and thoroughly clean these areas. A failed ignition coil, a plugged fuel tank vent system, a dirty fuel filter, or dirt/water/stale fuel in the fuel system can also be responsible. Address these issues by replacing the coil, inspecting and repairing the vent system, replacing the fuel filter, or cleaning and flushing the fuel system.

Why won't my Toro 74024 engine start?
    • T
      tbridgesNov 25, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Toro Lawn Mower engine from starting. The fuel tank might be empty, so fill it. The fuel-shutoff valve could be closed, so open it. The oil level in the crankcase may be low, so add oil. Ensure the throttle is midway between the slow and fast positions. Other potential causes include a dirty fuel filter (replace it) or a dirty air cleaner (clean or replace it). Also, check the spark plug wire connection, and adjust or replace the spark plug if it is fouled or improperly gapped. If the seat switch is not functioning properly, check the seat-switch indicator and replace the seat if necessary. For corroded, loose, or damaged electrical connections, check the electrical connections for good contact. Clean the connector terminals thoroughly with electrical-conta...
