Every200hours—Greasethebrake
pivot.
1.Disengagethebrakelever(leverdown).
2.Measurethelengthofthespring.Themeasurement
shouldbe2-3/4inch(70mm)betweenthewashers
(
Figure63).
3.Ifanadjustmentisnecessary,loosenthejamnut
belowthespringandtightenthenutdirectlybelow
theyoke(Figure63).Turnthenutuntilthecorrect
measurementisobtained.Tightenthetwonuts
togetherandrepeatontheoppositesideoftheunit.
4.Turnthenutsclockwisetoshortenthespringlength
andcounterclockwisetolengthenthespring.
5.Engagetheparkingbrake,leverup.
6.Measurethedistancebetweenthespringbracket
andtheadjustingnutunderspringbracket.The
measurementshouldbe1/4-5/16inch(5-8mm)

7.Ifanadjustmentisnecessary,loosenthejamnut
directlyabovethetrunionroller.Turnthelock
nutbelowthetrunionrolleruntilthecorrect
measurementisobtained(
Figure63).
8.Tightenthejamnutdirectlyabovethetrunionroller
(Figure63).
Note:Ifthe1/4-5/16inch(5-8mm)cannotbe
achieved,removeapinfromeitheryokeattheends
ofthebrakerod.Adjustthelengthoftherodso
