Why does my Toro Z580-D Z Master 74266 engine lose power?

If your Toro Lawn Mower engine loses power, the possible causes are: the engine load is excessive (reduce the ground speed); the air cleaner is dirty (clean the air-cleaner element); the oil level in the crankcase is low (add oil to the crankcase); the cooling fins and air passages above the engine are plugged (remove the obstruction from the cooling fins and air passages); the vent hole in the fuel cap is plugged (clean or replace the fuel cap); there is dirt in the fuel filter (replace the fuel filter); or there is dirt, water, or stale fuel is in the fuel system (contact an Authorized Service Dealer).
