9.Tightenbothswiveljamnutsagainstthefrontswivel
tolocktheheight.
10.Checktomakesurethereisequaltensiononthe
chainsandadjustagainifneeded.

1.Raisethemowerliftlevertothetransportposition.
2.Checkthedistancebetweenthetwolargewashers,
itneedstobe11-1/8inches(28.2cm)for52inch
mowerdecksand10-1/2inches(26.7cm)for60
inchmowerdecks(Figure63).
3.Adjustthisdistance,bylooseningthespringjam
nutandturningthenutinfrontofeachspring
(Figure63).
Note:Turningthenutclockwisewillshortenthe
spring;counter-clockwisewilllengthenthespring.

Maintainsharpbladesthroughoutthecuttingseason
becausesharpbladescutcleanlywithouttearingor
shreddingthegrassblades.Tearingandshreddingturns
grassbrownattheedges,whichslowsgrowthand
increasesthechanceofdisease.
Checkthecutterbladesdailyforsharpness,andforany
wearordamage.Filedownanynicksandsharpenthe
bladesasnecessary.Ifabladeisdamagedorworn,
replaceitimmediatelywithagenuineTororeplacement
blade.Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,you
maywanttokeepextrabladesonhand.
