WashingtheUndersideofthe
Mower
ServiceInterval:Aftereachuse—Cleanthemower-deck
housing.
Washtheundersideofthemoweraftereachusetoprevent
grassbuildupforimprovedmulchactionandclipping
dispersal.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewithmild
detergentandwater.Donotpressurewashthemachine.
Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,especiallynearthecontrol
panel,undertheseat,andaroundtheengine,hydraulic
pumps,andmotors.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethe
blade-controlswitch.
2.Movethemotion-controlleversoutwardtothePARK
position,shutofftheengine,removethekey,and
waitforallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Attachthehosecouplingtotheendofthe
mower-washoutttingandturnthewateronhigh
(Figure63).
Note:Spreadpetroleumjellyonthewashouttting
O-ringtomakethecouplingslideoneasierandto
protecttheO-ring.

6.Engagetheblade-controlswitchandletthemowerrun
for1to3minutes.
7.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch,shutoffthe
engine,removetheignitionkey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostop.
8.Turnthewateroffandremovethecouplingfromthe
washouttting.
Note:Ifthemowerisnotcleanafterasinglewashing,
soakitandletitstandfor30minutes.Then,repeat
theprocess.
9.Runthemoweragainfor1to3minutestoremove
excesswater.
WARNING
Abrokenormissingwashoutttingcould
exposeyouandotherstothrownobjectsor
bladecontact,causinginjuryordeath.
Replacebrokenormissingwashouttting
immediatelybeforeusingmoweragain.
Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthe
mowerorthroughopeningsinthemower.
