1.DisengagethePTOandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Disconnectthenegativebatterycablefromthe
negative(-)batteryterminal(
Figure53).
4.Slidetheredterminalbootoffthepositive(red)
batteryterminal.Thenremovethepositive(red)
batterycable(Figure53).
5.Removethebatteryholddownplate(
Figure53)and
removethebattery.
InstallingtheBattery
1.Placethebatteryontothemachine(Figure53).
2.Securethebatterywiththeholddownplate,j-bolts,
andlocknuts.
3.First,installthepositive(red)batterycableto
positive(+)batteryterminalwithanut,washerand
bolt(
Figure53).Slidetherubbercoveroverthepost.
4.Theninstallthenegativebatterycableandground
wiretothenegative(-)batteryterminalwithanut,
washerandbolt(Figure53).
Note:Thebatterycableswillcrossovereachother
whenthearecorrectlyinstalled(
Figure53).
