12.Whennished,returnthebacklapleverstothe
FORWARD(F)position,replacethecover,and
washalllappingcompoundoffofthecutting
units.Adjustcuttingunitreeltobedknifeas
needed.Movethecuttingunitreelspeedcontrol
tothedesiredmowingposition.
Important:Ifthebacklapleverisnot
returnedtotheFORWARD(F)positionafter
backlapping,thecuttingunitswillnotraise
orfunctionproperly.
SettingtheReelSpeed
Toachieveaconsistent,high-qualitycutandauniform
after-cutappearance,youmustcorrectlysetthereel
speedcontrol(locatedonthemanifoldblockunder
thecovertotheleftoftheseat).Adjustthereelspeed
controlasfollows:
1.Selecttheheightofcutatwhichthecuttingunits
areset.
2.Choosethedesiredgroundspeedbestsuites
conditions.
3.Usethetablethatfollowstodeterminethe
reel-speedsettingforyour5-,8-,11-,or
14-bladecuttingunits;refertoReelSpeedTable
(page49).
4.Adjustthereelspeedbyrotatingtheknob
(Figure53)untiltheindicatorarrowsareinline
withthenumberyoudeterminedinstep3.
Note:Youcanincreaseordecreasethereel
speedtocompensateforturfconditions.
