  Your Toro Lawn Mower may lose power after some use because: * A pump or motor is worn, in which case you should replace parts as necessary. * The hydraulic fluid level is low. Refill the hydraulic fluid tank to the correct level. * The fluid in the hydraulic system has the wrong viscosity. Replace the fluid in the hydraulic tank with the correct viscosity-grade fluid; refer to the Specifications section. * The fluid-filter element is blocked, so change the filter element. * The system is overheating. Check the reel-to-bedknife adjustment and reduce the work rate by increasing the height of cut or reducing the forward speed. * There are leaks on the suction hose. Check and tighten the fittings, replacing the hose if necessary.

  A step in cut grass height at the overlap between cutting cylinders on your Toro Lawn Mower can occur due to an inconsistent height of cut setting on one cylinder, the raise/lower position control not being in the float position, no ground contact on one end of the cutter because of poorly routed hoses or wrongly positioned hydraulic adaptors, pivot pins seizing, or grass build up under the cutterhead. Check and readjust the height of cut setting, operate the position control to the float position, correct hose routing/reposition hydraulic adaptors, release and grease pivot points, or remove the grass.

To solve this, remove your foot from the forward/reverse pedals or check the setting of the transmission neutral interlock switch. * The parking brake interlock switch is not energized. To fix this, move the parking brake switch to the on position. * The cutting unit drive interlock switch is not energized. In this case, move the cutting unit switch to the off position. * There is a malfunctioning electrical connection. To resolve this, locate and correct the fault in the electrical system.

  If your Toro Lawn Mower is leaving lines of uncut or badly cut grass in the direction of travel, consider the following possible causes and solutions: * Tram lining of the cutting edges due to heavy contact caused by poor reel-to-bedknife adjustment. Back lap or grind the edges. * The bedknife is in contact with the ground. Raise the height of cut. * The bedknife has a nose-down angle. Adjust the cutting unit to position the bedknife parallel to the ground. * The cutting units are bouncing. Reduce the forward speed and reduce the weight transfer. * Worn reel bearings/bearing housing pivots. Replace any worn parts. * Loose components in the cutting unit. Check and tighten components as necessary.
