  If your Toro Lawn Mower engine won't start, make sure the PTO (Blade Engage) lever is in the OFF position and the parking brake is engaged. Check that the spark plug wire is connected and the throttle/choke control is in the CHOKE position. Ensure the fuel tank has clean, fresh gas (less than 30 days old) and that the fuel line isn't blocked. Also, inspect the spark plug for faults, and if the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in the FAST position.

  If your Toro Lawn Mower engine runs erratically, first ensure the Throttle/Choke Control is not in the CHOKE position. Check and tighten the spark plug wires, and make sure the fuel line is clean and the fuel is fresh (less than 30 days old). Also, check if the vent in the gas cap is plugged, and drain the fuel tank if there's water or dirt in the fuel system. Finally, inspect the air cleaner and replace the paper element or clean the foam precleaner if dirty.
