Why won't my Toro LX466 Lawn Mower engine start?
    • C
      Calvin GoldenJul 29, 2025
If your Toro Lawn Mower engine fails to start, ensure the PTO knob or lever is disengaged, the parking brake is engaged, and the spark plug wires are connected. Also, check that the throttle/choke control is in the correct starting position and that the choke is activated. Make sure the fuel tank isn't empty and that you're using fresh gas (less than 30 days old). Clear any blockage in the fuel line, and inspect the spark plug. If the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in the FAST position.

Avoid mowing when the grass is wet and, if the grass is excessively high, mow at a high cutting height first, then mow again at the desired height, or make a narrower cutting swath.
