ServiceInterval:Every250hours—Replacethe
primaryairlterandcheckthe
conditionofthesafetylter(more
oftenindirtyordustyconditions).
Every500hours—Replacethesafetyairlter
(moreoftenindirtyordustyconditions).
RemovingtheFilters
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engage
theparkingbrake(ifapplicable),andlowerthe
hydrauliclift.
2.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
3.Releasethelatchesontheaircleanerandpull
theair-cleanercoverofftheair-cleanerbody
(Figure26).

6.Removethesafetylteronlyifyouintendto
replaceit.
Important:Donotattempttocleanthe
safetylter.Ifthesafetylterisdirty,then
theprimarylterisdamaged.Replaceboth
lters.
ServicingthePrimaryFilter
Inspecttheprimarylterfordamagebylookinginto
thelterwhileshiningabrightlightontheoutsideof
thelter.
Note:Holesinthelterappearasbrightspots.If
thelterisdirty,bent,ordamaged,replaceit.Donot
cleantheprimarylter.
ServicingtheSafetyFilter
Replacethesafetylter;nevercleanit.
Important:Donotattempttocleanthesafety
lter.Ifthesafetylterisdirty,thentheprimary
lterisdamaged.Replacebothlters.
InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandthe
coverinstalled.
1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterfor
shippingdamage.
Note:Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifyouarereplacingthesafetylter,carefully
slideitintothelterbody(Figure26).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafety
lter(Figure26).
Note:Ensurethattheprimarylterisfully
seatedbypushingonitsouterrimwhileinstalling
it.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinside
areaofthelter.
4.Installtheair-cleanercoverwiththeside
indicatedasupfacingupwardandsecurethe
latches(Figure26).
