1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface.
2.RefertoPreparingforMaintenance(page25).
3.Removethedipstickbyrotatingthecap
counterclockwiseandpullingitout(Figure28).

9.Insertthedipstickintotheoil-lltube,then
removethedipstick.
10.Readtheoillevelonthedipstick(Figure28).
•Iftheoillevelonthedipstickistoolow,
carefullypourasmallamountofoilintothe
oil-lltube,wait3minutes,andrepeatsteps
8through10untiltheoillevelonthedipstick
iscorrect.
•Iftheoillevelonthedipstickistoohigh,
draintheexcessoiluntiltheoillevelonthe
dipstickiscorrect.
Important:Iftheoillevelintheengineistoo
lowortoohighandyouruntheengine,you
maydamagetheengine.
11.Installthedipstickintotheoil-lltubesecurely.
12.Recycletheusedoilproperly.
ChargingtheBattery
ForElectric-StartModels
ServiceInterval:Every25hours
Chargethebatteryfor24hoursinitially,thenmonthly
(every25starts)orasneeded.Alwaysusethe
chargerinashelteredareaandchargethebatteryat
roomtemperature(22°Cor70°F)wheneverpossible.
1.Connectthechargertothewireharnesslocated
belowtheelectric-startbutton(Figure30).
