Ifthepulleycoversonyourmowerdeckaresecuredwithascrew,followthisprocedureforreplacingthe

mowerbelt.

ReplacingtheMowerBelt

Thesignsofawornbeltincludesquealingwhilethe

beltisrotating,bladesslippingwhilecuttinggrass,

andfrayededges,burnmarks,andcracksonthebelt.

Replacethemowerbeltifanyoftheseconditionsare

evident.

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage

theblade-controlswitch,andmovethe

motion-controlleversoutwardtothePARK

position.

2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait

forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe

operatingposition.

3.Settheheightofcutatthelowestcuttingposition

(38mm(1-1/2inches).

4.Loosenthescrewandpushinthetabonthe

covertoremovethepulleycovers(Figure1).

  If the engine of your Toro Lawn Mower doesn't start, starts hard, or fails to keep running, possible causes include an empty fuel tank (fill it), the choke not being on (move it to the ON position), a dirty air cleaner (clean or replace it), loose or disconnected spark-plug wire(s) (install the wire(s) on the spark plug), a pitted, fouled, or incorrectly gapped spark plug(s) (install a new, correctly gapped spark plug(s)), dirt in the fuel filter (replace it), incorrect oil level in the crankcase (add oil). For issues related to dirt, water, or stale fuel in the fuel system, or incorrect fuel in the fuel tank, it is best to contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

  If your Toro Lawn Mower engine loses power, it could be due to several factors. The engine load might be too high, so reduce the ground speed. A dirty air cleaner can cause this, so clean it. Low oil level in the crankcase can also be a culprit, so add oil. Check the cooling fins and air passages under the engine blower housing for obstructions and remove them. Also, inspect the spark plug(s) for pitting, fouling, or incorrect gap and replace if necessary. For issues with the fuel-tank vent, dirt in the fuel filter, dirt, water, or stale fuel in the fuel system, or incorrect fuel, it's best to contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

  If your Toro Lawn Mower's cutting height is uneven, several factors could be responsible. The blade(s) may not be sharp, so sharpen them. A cutting blade(s) might be bent, so replace it. The mower might not be level, so level it from side-to-side and front-to-rear. If applicable, an anti-scalp roller may not be set correctly, so adjust its height. The underside of the mower deck might be dirty, so clean it. Incorrect tire pressure could also be the cause, so adjust it. For a bent blade spindle, it's best to contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

The blade mounting bolt could be loose, so tighten it. Also, check if the engine mounting bolts are loose and tighten them if necessary. Similarly, inspect the engine pulley, idler pulley, or blade pulley for looseness and tighten the appropriate pulley. For issues related to a damaged engine pulley, bent blade spindle, or loose/worn motor mount, it is best to contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
