Park the machine on a level surface and disengage the blade-control switch.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait for all moving parts to stop.
Set the height of cut to the lowest cutting position (38 mm).
Loosen the screw and push on the tab to remove the pulley covers.
Warning: The spring is under tension when installed and can cause personal injury.
Route the new belt around the engine pulley and mower pulleys.
Use a spring-removal tool to install the idler spring and tension the belt.
Install the pulley covers and secure them with the screws.
