A dirty air cleaner can also be the culprit, so clean or replace it. Check that the spark-plug wire(s) is securely connected to the spark plug. Inspect the spark plug(s) for damage or incorrect gap, replacing if necessary. Also, a clogged fuel filter may prevent starting, so replace it. Low oil level in the crankcase may also be the reason, add oil to the crankcase.
