Use the mower deck as a step to get into the operator’s position.

Starting the Engine
Start the engine as shown.
Note: A warm or hot engine may not require choking.
IMPORTANT
Do not engage the starter for more than 5 seconds at a time, otherwise you can
damage the starter motor. If the engine fails to start, wait 10 seconds before operating
the engine starter again.
