Why is my Toro topdresser 2300 conveyor belt not turning?

  There are several reasons why the conveyor belt might not be turning. The chain may be loose or broken, requiring replacement or tension adjustment. The belt tension could also be too loose, so tighten it. If the brush is set too low, slide a sheet of paper between the brush and the belt; it should slide freely. If the brush is too low slide it upwards until it clears the belt just enough to slide the paper underneath, ensuring clearance at the lacing. Lastly, the drive roller might not be turning; inspect the welds on each end of the drive roller, as the shaft may be turning but not the roller, which would necessitate drive roller replacement.

  If the conveyor belt and brush are not turning, several issues could be the cause. First, check for bad electrical connections by ensuring the wiring harness is plugged in and all wires are making contact. Also, a blown harness fuse could be the culprit, so replace the fuse. Another potential cause is that the hydraulic lines are installed backwards. To correct this, stand on the left-hand side (chain guard side) and ensure the conveyor belt rotates clockwise and the brush rotates counterclockwise. If they are rotating in the wrong direction, reverse the lines on the corresponding motors. Finally, the valve may be contaminated.

What to do if tires are skidding on my Toro topdresser 2300?

  If one tire is skidding, check the sprocket for a sheared key and replace the key if necessary. If both tires are skidding, replace the check valve on that side. Also check the valve for blockage of ports.
