4. Insert the clamping screw with the axis again through the axial borehole in the shaft
head. The axis is fixed again on the opposite side with the second clamping screw.
5. Hang the drive on the transom or motor holder on your boat and tighten the two
mounting clamps.
6. Several steps are necessary to set the motor at a
right angle to the water surface (trimming):
Hold on to the rear side of the transom mount
with one hand and use the other hand to
press the release lever of the tilt mechanism
(see drawing). Now you can easily and
safely tilt the motor upward.
Loosen the trimming bolt by
unscrewing the orange nut,
then pull it out of the transom mount.
Select the trimming position you want
and insert the trimming bolt into the
corresponding borehole. You must insert the
trimming bolt through both side walls of the transom mount.
Only then can you fix it into place again with the orange nut.
Tilt the motor down again until it locks into the new position.
8.2 Connecting the remote steering
To connect your Cruise outboard to a remote steering system you need the following
parts:
Remote steering system (not supplied) e.g. Teleflex Light Duty Steering System SS1380
Guide pipe (not supplied) to fix the remote steering system to the outboard’s transom
bracket, e.g. Teleflex aluminum pipe SA27274
Link arm (supplied) to connect the remote steering system with the adapter on the shaft
head
8. Starting up
1. Hold on here
2. Press tilt
mechanism
release lever
downward
