Turning the TV on
To conserve energy it is recommended to turn your TV off and not to leave it in standby.
Connect the power cord.
To reduce the risk of permanent after-image, the Picture shift function activates by default, so that picture will move
in a counterclockwise direction.
To deactivate the Picture shift function, set it to OFF (see page 31).
Switching on the TV
Press the POWER switch
on the TV until it clicks.
The
Power ON indicator lights
in red. Press the
button on
the remote control if the picture
does not exist.
Notes: (After your TV is tuned in)
You can also turn on the TV by pressing one of the Number
buttons (0 - 9) on the remote control instead of the
button. By
pressing the number (one digit only) where the channel you want
to watch is preset, you can turn on the TV and go to your selected
channel at the same time.
When the remote control is not at hand, you can turn on the TV by
pressing the –
+ or
P
buttons on the TV control panel
on the right side of the panel.
This TV is a design based on an extremely high level digital
technology; it takes approximately 10 seconds after the TV is
turned on for picture to appear.
Switching off the TV
Press the button on the remote control to switch to the
standby mode.
To switch the TV off, press the POWER switch on the TV.
Power indicator light will be turned off.
Notes:
This TV is not full disconnected from the main supply, as minute
current is consumed even when the
POWER switch is turned
off.
When the TV will not be used for a long period of time, such as
during vacation or travel, remove the power plug from the wall
outlet.
The TV will automatically turn itself off after approximately 15
minutes if it is tuned to a vacant channel or a station that
completes its broadcast for the day. This feature does not work in
external input or PC mode.
If the power is cut off while you are viewing the TV, the Last
Mode Memory feature turns the TV on automatically when the
power is resupplied.
